日本の国語教育では教科書に文学作品を掲載する場合が多く、作品の文学的解釈に偏りすぎる傾向がある。英米の国語教育では、文章の論理性、簡潔性の重要さを教える。このような国語教育の差は文章の作成能力、論理的思考能力の差となって現れ、社会人となってからの彼我の実務能力に大きい差がついてしまう。パソコンで英米人が文章を作るところを見た事のある人は、そのスピードに驚嘆したはずだ。日本人の１０倍以上である。議事録などは会議終了後５分以内に出てくる。

大学の英語教育も英文科出身の教授が小説の逐語訳をさせるだけで、語学力の向上には役に立たない。国語と英語教育は根本的にやり方を変える必要がある。
